To the members of the Class of 1968 .
Never before in history has the youth of the world been faced with such a variety of complex problems and challenges—social, political, ideological, financial, and scientific. A myriad of invaluable opportunities lies before you in all fields of endeavor.
As you leave high school, it is my hope that you will face these opportunities with courage, self-reliance, and good judgment. You will need all the strong personal resources that you can bring into practice to make your future useful and bright. The greatest personal resource is inherent in the education you obtain. I strongly urge you to carry through a program of education throughout your lifetime.
Remember that excellence is promoted by one's determination to develop his potential to a high degree.
