Mr. and Mrs. O'Brien — Joseph L. and Ida F. O'Brien of 1068 Victoria St., New Bedford, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Jan. 20 with a surprise party/brunch at Cafe Funchal, New Bedford, given by their children and attended by family and close friends. The couple were married Feb. 7 1948, in New Bedford. Mr. O'Brien is retired from ComElectric. They have five children, Pat Tode and her husband, Skip, of Exeter, N.H., Elizabeth Asack and her husband, Thomas, of Duxbury, Brenda Pierce and her husband, Scott, and James O'Brien and his wife, Pauline, all of Rochester, and Karen Bates and her husband, Michael, of Acushnet; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild |
