NSTAR SPINS FACTS NSTAR stated that the average lineman makes $97,000. What NSTAR did not release to the press was how this amount was compiled. The truth is that NSTAR only used the salaries of the lineman crews that left their families for two months and risked their lives working 24 hours a day assisting Florida Power & Light restore electricity to the communities that were devastated by two back-to-back hurricanes. NSTAR then added this money to only the salaries of those linemen that went to Florida and stated that this was an average lineman’s pay for ALL linemen. Again, NSTAR distorted the facts in its press release to the general public.
